| Day 1 - Shanghai |
|
Depart the UK by scheduled airline in the late afternoon for an overnight flight to Shanghai. |
| Day 2 - Shanghai, Beijing |
Arrive in Shanghai at Pudong International Airport, transfer to a domestic connecting flight to Beijing. Meet up with local guide and transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. |
| Day 3 - Beijing |
After breakfast, board a coach for a morning tour of Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Follow this with a visit to The Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City, home to 24 Emperors during the Ming (1368 ¨C 1644) and the Qing (1644 ¨C 1911) Dynasties. After lunch visit the Temple of Heaven, the largest existing temple complex in China today. |
| Day 4 - Beijing |
Today's highlight is the full day excursion to The Great Wall, the landmark of China and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. First built in the 5th century BC, the wall stretches for an amazing 3300 miles. After lunch we will drive to the Ming Tombs and tour the Ding Tomb, the only excavated tomb of the 13 Ming Dynasty tombs.This evening enjoy a traditional Peking duck dinner. |
| Day 5 - Beijing, Xi'an |
This morning after checking out of your hotel we will visit the Summer Palace the largest and best preserved of all the imperial palace gardens, where you may walk along the famous Long Corridor and take a boat ride on Lake Kunming. In the afternoon return to Beijing airport for a flight to Xi'an. Upon arrival transfer and check-in to your hotel for a two night stay.

| Day 6 - Xi'an |
The highlight today is a visit to the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang and the famous Terra Cotta Army. The discovery of the life-size terra cotta soldiers draws world attention and it is regarded as the eighth wonder of the world. Return to the city for a sightseeing tour which includes the Big Goose Pagoda and the Bell Tower, before attending a Tang Dynasty Theatre Dinner Show in the evening. |
| Day 7 - Xi'an, Chongqing |
Following breakfast check out of hotel and visit the Provincial Museum before departing Xi'an for Chongqing, located in Sichuan province. Upon arrival transfer to the pier and board your Regal Cruise boat. |
| Day 8 - Yangtze Cruise |
The boat sets sail this morning down the famous Yangtze River. Today's shore visit is 107 miles downstream from Chongqing and is to the wooden temple of Shiboazhai and the "Devil City" better know as the city of Fengdu. This city was believed to be the home of "devils" and is a well known resting place for the spirits of the dead, hence the city's notoriety as the "City of Ghosts". |
| Day 9 - Yangtze Cruise: the Three Gorges |
The boat will sail through Qutang Gorge which at 8 km long is the shortest the three gorges, this is followed by Wu Gorge which is 40km long. Following an exiting ride through deep valleys to a shallow stretch of the river where you transfer to small boats operated by the local Tujia people who will guide you over a cobble-strewn riverbed amongst the dramatic landscape. Back on board the third and final gorge is Xiling Gorge which is the longest at 75km long, this gorge is known for its very swift and dangerous current. Pass through the four enormous ship locks at the new dam to reach Sandouping where the ship will moor overnight. |
| Day 10 - Yangtze Cruise |
Today we visit the Three Gorges Dam site, an amazing engineering feat. On board the boat continues down the river towards Wuhan. |
| Day 11 - Wuhan, Shanghai |
This morning arrive in Wuhan, disembark and transfer to the airport for a flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai transfer to the hotel for a two night stay. |
| Day 12 - Shanghai, Suzhou |
A day excursion to Suzhou where you will visit the Garden of the Master of the Nets, the Panmen City Gate and explore the lively old quarter before returning to Shanghai in the late afternoon. |
| Day 13 - Shanghai |
After breakfast check out of hotel, board tour coach for a visit to the Shanghai Museum, followed by a tour to the Yu Yuan Garden. Following lunch take a visit to the famous Bund and this evening we will enjoy a Chinese acrobatic show. |
| Day 14 - Shanghai |
After breakfast check out of hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. |
