| Day 1 - Beijing |
|
Depart the UK by scheduled airline in the late afternoon for an overnight flight to Beijing. |
| Day 2 - Beijing |
Arrive in Beijing meet up with local guide and transfer to your hotel. Check-in and relax for the rest of the day. |
| Day 3 - Beijing |
After breakfast, board a coach for a morning tour of Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Follow this with a visit to The Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City, home to 24 Emperors during the Ming (1368 ¨C 1644) and the Qing (1644 ¨C 1911) Dynasties. After lunch visit the Summer Palace, the largest and best preserved of all the imperial palace gardens, where you may walk along the famous Long Corridor and take a boat ride on Lake Kunming. This evening enjoy a traditional Peking duck dinner. |
| Day 4 - Beijing |
A Full day excursion to The Great Wall, the landmark of China and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After lunch we will drive to the Ding Tomb, the only excavated tomb of the 13 Ming Dynasty tombs. |
| Day 5 - Beijing, Jixian |
After breakfast check out of hotel and travel by coach visit the Temple of Heaven, the largest existing temple complex existing in China today. After lunch continue onto Jixian and check into hotel. |
| Day 6 - Jixian, Tianjin |
Check-out of hotel and board coach to visit the Eastern Tombs of the Qing Dynasty. These are the largest and best kept of all the Qing temples. Following this we will visit the Great Wall at the Huangya Pass, this is a beautiful and secluded section of the wall. Finally today we visit the Temple of Solitary Joy, a pure wooden structure which is over a thousand years old, having survived the severe earth quake that hit the region in 1976. Transfer to Tianjin and your hotel for the evening in the late afternoon. |
| Day 7 - Tianjin |
Tianjin is the third largest city in China and there are many sights to enjoy. Today's programme includes visits to the Yangliuquing New Year painting studio which is one of the leading traditional Chinese painting studios in the country, renowned for its wood block painting. You will also visit the local carpet factory, the ancient Cultural Street and Food Street before enjoying a delicious Gou Bu Li steamed dumpling dinner, which has been a very popular delicacy since the later half of the Qing Dynasty. |
| Day 8 - Tianjin, Beijing |
Check Out of hotel and travel to Beijing airport for your return flight to the UK. |
